Have you recently decided that you want to straighten your teeth using Invisalign® clear braces, but you would still like to know how long you’ll have them for?
Well, our Invisalign specialists are here to provide some information regarding the typical treatment time for Invisalign braces.
How long to straighten teeth with Invisalign?
Several of our patients come to us during their consultation and ask us several questions about Invisalign. One of the questions we always come across involves the topic of Invisalign treatment duration– how long will it take to see results once the Invisalign treatment starts?
Well, we provide different answers to each patient, simply because each case is different– some patients have severely crooked teeth, some have minor crooked tooth adjustments, and still, others need minor bite adjustments. These are just some of the factors that our cosmetic dentists consider when giving an approximate treatment time for our patients.
Patient compliance is absolutely critical
Our cosmetic dentists will undoubtedly do everything in our power to ensure the quickest, most effective treatment time for your Invisalign braces treatment. However, you, our patient, must also do your part– wearing the clear, nearly invisible aligners.
- The clear aligners must be worn approximately 22 hours per day, with hardly any exceptions.
- The only time you should remove your aligners is to eat, drink beverages other than water, brush, floss, and clean the aligners.
- If patients do not practice strict adherence to wearing their aligners for 22 hours per day, then treatment time can drastically extend, which means a longer time period wearing the aligners.
In order for the estimated time to be the most accurate, you must abide by this simple rule. Just think, wearing your aligners for the specified time during the day and night will allow you to get straighter teeth in less time than any other orthodontic treatment method!
So how long will it take to straighten your teeth using Invisalign?
So how long will it take, you ask? Taking into account all of the above factors, typical treatment time can take anywhere between 6 months to 2 years. Our dentists would love to see your teeth get straightened out in the least amount of time so that you can enjoy all of the benefits of a beautiful, healthy smile.
If you are curious as to whether or not Invisalign clear braces are the best option for you, our orthodontist will help you make that decision. We will evaluate your case, and let you know whether or not we recommend Invisalign braces to straighten your teeth. If Invisalign will not work for your teeth, we will definitely recommend other orthodontic treatment alternatives so that you can have beautiful, straight teeth as soon as possible.
