Dr. Bernuy, a distinguished board-certified orthodontist, holds both a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, having graduated at the top of his class in 2002. His academic journey continued at the prestigious University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio, where he earned his DDS with Magna Cum Laude honors and a Distinction in Research. His exceptional achievements led to his induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honors Society, and as the sole student in his class, the renowned Pierre Fauchard Academy—an international dental honor organization.
Following his DDS, Dr. Bernuy pursued advanced orthodontic training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the nation’s top orthodontic residency programs. During his three-year residency, he earned a Master of Science degree and gained extensive expertise in orthodontics, solidifying his reputation for academic excellence and clinical skill.
As a committed lifelong learner, Dr. Bernuy actively participates in advanced educational programs to ensure that his patients benefit from the latest innovations and technologies in orthodontic care. Before establishing his practice in the U.S., he received numerous accolades in his home country of Peru and gained valuable experience working in New York and Connecticut, where he honed his clinical skills across various orthodontic practices.
